What an amazing experience spending 4 nights at Malachite and Kestrel camp with our family. A stunning setting with breathtaking views of the mountain and resident eagles, the fynbos and the beautiful campsite garden were a visual feast. The yurts were super fun and comfy and Kate and Tobin catered for every need from torches, and extra blankets and even hot water bottles. The kitchen and living area was very well equipped and cleverly designed with excellent use of space and everything we needed to make us feel at home.
We spent many happy family hours chatting and laughing around the fire-pit and in the awesome hot tub. The loo-with-a-view was unforgettable and unique. We had a wonderfully relaxing few days off-the-grid and managed to rest and recharge.
Thanks Kate and Tobin for your hospitality and efficiency and attention to detail. We hope to return again soon and highly recommend Southern Yurts to anyone considering a visit.

A spectacular stay! To date - this has been our best holiday yet! Kate and Tobin were excellent hosts. Communication was super helpful and easy. The Forest View Yurt is on a beautiful secluded part of the farm, surrounded by an abundance of bird life and exquisite views. There were plenty of hiking options for different levels of difficulty (clearly marked marked explained by our hosts). Both the yurt, living area and outside bathroom were tastefully decorated and very well equipped. We loved our time staring up at the stars from the wood-fired jacuzzi, and spent lazy afternoons reading on the day bed, with a warm fire crackling, and also explored the secret forest trail. This is an absolute hidden gem! We can't wait to return!

We had an absolutely amazing time at the Forest View Yurt! Besides all the little luxuries, surprises and visual delight that unfolds as you make yourself comfortable in the spot, the environment is also just magic. From chilling in the hot tub, to relaxing in front of the fire place - it really does feel as if you are at the rim of a Secret Forest. And once you wander down to the wooden bridge to cross the river, another amazing journey unfolds... you can really spend days on the property exploring many forest and mountain paths with endless views. We were lucky to spot two Verreaux eagles whilst hiking between magnificent fynbos. Kate and Tobin are super hosts - thorough upfront communication, meeting us in person, ensure we are super comfortable, sparkling clean spot – and an incredible vision to ensure one experience real magic!

I cannot rate this little gem highly enough !
The campsite itself is so well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable weekend away and I cannot emphasise how this listing is the most value for money you could possibly get! The location and the backdrop with the mountain is everything you could want when camping ! Nestled in the valley with scenic views, beautiful hikes and only the sounds of nature all around you. The campsite has everything and on a colder weekend the yurts were warm and cozy and there was plenty of firewood to keep us warm outside ! Additional blankets and hot water bottles were provided but were never needed. Kate and Tobin were great. Do yourselves a favour and book this gem for a weekend you won’t regret it !

The most stunning spot I’ve been at in years! Everything in the yurt, lounge and kitchen was perfect & it was so well equipped! Beautiful scenery - we loved watching the Verreaux’s eagles soaring above the campsite, the dassies, the klipspringers and birds all around. Such a great getaway- with great hosts. (Also creds to Tobin for rescuing us late evening when we got stuck in the mud!)
